Professional Profile:

Raymond R. Tan is a full professor of chemical engineering, University Fellow and current Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines. His main areas of research are process systems engineering (PSE) and process integration (PI), and is ranked 13 th and 4 th in the world, respectively, in these areas according to Google Scholar citations. Prof. Tan received his BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering and PhD in mechanical engineering from De La Salle University, and is the author of more 220 Scopus-listed publications with an h-index of 32. He is co-editor- in-chief of Process Integration and Optimization for Sustainability (Springer/Nature), subject editor of Sustainable Production and Consumption (Elsevier/IChemE), and an editorial board member of Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy (Springer/Nature) and Int. J. of Supply Chain and Operations Resilience (Inderscience). He is also editor of the books Recent Advances in Sustainable Process Design and Optimization (World Scientific) and Process Design Strategies for Biomass Conversion Systems (Wiley). For his scientific work, Prof. Tan has received multiple awards from the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP).

Dr. Wilfredo Licuanan is a Full Professor of the Biology Department and University Fellow of De La Salle University (DLSU). He is also the founding Director of the DLSU Br. Alfred Shields Ocean Research Center. Its Marine Station is where he conducts research, educational and extension activities pertaining to marine ecosystems and their interface with coastal communities, especially its youth. He has been surveying and monitoring coral reefs for over 30 years and has led research teams to many previously unstudied reefs from all around the country including the Kalayaan (Spratly) Islands (where he discovered a coral species new to science), and the Pacific Ocean coasts from Luzon to Mindanao. He is currently leading a Department of Science and Technology-funded project undertaking a nationwide reassessment of the status of reefs.

December 31, 2017 - 5,000 Thai baht for PhD students who pre-register (before December 31, 2017). After this date, their conference registration fee is 7,500 baht.

December 31, 2017 - 7,500 Thai baht pre-registration fee for academics who wish to present their papers and have their manuscript considered for inclusion in either the APSSR or AIJSS special issues (After December 31, 2017 the conference fee is 10,000 baht).

December 31, 2017 - Last day for conference registration.

Notes:

  • Notification of paper acceptance for conference presentation and publication consideration is 5 days after the complete manuscript's electronic upload.
  • The top 16 papers will be selected for publication in a special issue (March 2018) of the SJR/Scopus indexed Asia-Pacific Social Sciences Review (APSSR) from De La Salle University, Manila, the Philippines. (APSSR Archives).
  • The next 16 papers will be selected for publication in a special issue of the Asian International Journal of Social Sciences (AIJSS) to be published in March 2018.
  • All papers will be published online in the Asia-Pacific Innovations Forum Proceedings (APIF2018).
